Your audio stays on your device
SongToBars analyzes audio and encodes video entirely inside your web browser. The audio files you add and the videos you render are never uploaded to our servers or to anyone else. When you close the tab, they are gone from the page.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure and are not used to identify you.
The site's fonts and code are served from our own domain.
Visitor analytics
To understand how the site is used and what to improve, we measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites.
We also use Google Analytics. It records the pages you visit, your browser and device type, your approximate location (country or city, derived from your IP address) the links you click within the site (such as the menu, footer and language switch), and how you use the visualizer: adding, selecting, reordering or removing tracks, starting playback, the settings and options you change (for example a preset, a slider value, the style, layout, color, resolution or frame rate), and starting, finishing, stopping or failing a render, including how long the render took. It never receives your audio, your file names or the videos you make. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell visits apart.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are measured without analytics cookies unless they consent. You can opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google's browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. Learn more about how Google uses this information.
Advertising and cookies
We may show ads served by Google AdSense to keep SongToBars free. When ads are enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Local storage
SongToBars does not store your settings or files in your browser between visits. The exceptions are the language you pick with the language switch, which may be remembered in your browser, and switching language on the visualizer: your current tracks and settings are held in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) for the moment of the switch so the other language opens with the same work, and are deleted as soon as that page loads. Nothing is uploaded.
Children
SongToBars is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
