Changelog
What changed in each version of SongToBars.
2.1 — October 2026
- New workspace layout with a create panel, live preview and track list.
- Loud bars now approach the maximum height smoothly instead of all stopping at the same height in a flat line, and very loud tracks get automatic headroom so the bars keep their shape.
- Added a language switch for English and Korean.
- New Circle type: bars grow outward around a ring in the middle of the frame, leaving the center free for your cover art.
- New Edge taper setting (on by default): bars get gradually shorter toward the left and right edges, so the spectrum fades out naturally instead of ending in a hard cut, however loud the track is.
- The Mirror layout now shows bars standing on a short, fading reflection instead of repeating Center, and the layout order is Bottom, Center, Mirror.
- Bars no longer flicker or shiver: small wobbles are eased in both directions while kicks keep their punch, Smoothing and Decay now work in time so 24, 30 and 60 fps look the same, the preview no longer drops bars to zero when the browser briefly lags, and the Punchy preset was retuned.
- BARFORGE is now called SongToBars.
- Fixed bars drifting late behind the audio in later songs of a combined playlist export.
- Fixed console errors in the preview before playback started.
- The video encoder and AAC fallback now share one bundled version, so exports no longer depend on an external CDN.
2.0
- Rendering moved to WebCodecs: videos encode faster than real time without playing the song.
- Render a whole playlist into one MP4.
- Large exports stream directly to disk in supported browsers.
